Job description
The Opportunity:

Assist the HSSE Manager in the ongoing development and enhancement of the plant’s HSSE program. This involves helping foster and grow a less experienced team to ensure that we are able to drive to zero injuries. This person will help enhance the program by working closely with the hourly associates and supervisory team to ensure we are exceeding the Safety promise.

Snapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:


  • Grow and develop the safety program on the afternoon shift

  • Support the hourly and supervisory team to ensure that all Safe Work procedures are correct and any gaps which could cause injury are identified and actions are developed to prevent further injuries from occurring

  • Help develop and build the behavior based safety program

  • Help support capital projects on the afternoon shift to ensure contractors, visitors, and Saskatoon employees are safe while learning new processes and equipment

  • Help grow and develop our environmental program



What You’ll Bring:


  • Preference to post-secondary education directly related to HSSE

  • CPR/FA certificate

  • Knowledge of Saskatchewan Environmental Acts and Regulations

  • Knowledge of Saskatchewan Occupational Health and Safety Regulations

  • Knowledge of applicable Canadian Safety Standards

  • Strong PC skills and ability to use Microsoft Office and other applicable programs

  • Ability to work both as an individual as well as in a team environment
