Job description

A global shipping company is seeking an HSSE Advisor to join their expanding team in Saint John, New Brunswick. This company is integral in the global shipping community and operates in more than 70 countries worldwide. This role is a full-time opportunity that alternate working hours from daytime (8 : 00am to 4 : 00pm) to evenings (4 : 00pm to 12 : 00am) each week.

The role :

  • Implementing HSE systems, programs, new policies, employee training, and programs that prevent injuries and ensure compliance with the companies HSE standards.
  • Conduct HSSE Audits to reduce loss. Also recommend and implement actions for improvement.
  • To ensure incident prevention. Conduct detailed injury and incident reports and review data and analysis to implement key actionable HSE metrics.

The candidate :

  • 3+ years of professional experience in Health & Safety roles.
  • Post-Secondary education in Occupational Health & Safety.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. With the knowledge of how to build long lasting relationships with coworkers.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, a self starter and someone who is accountable.
  • Time management skills, the ability to manage multiple on-going tasks and prioritizing them.
