A leading construction services provider in Ottawa is seeking a Health and Safety Specialist to support a preventative safety culture on the Chalk River Project. The role requires experience in the construction industry and strong organizational skills, with a focus on facilitating HSE training and compliance. The role of Health and Safety (HSE) Specialist is to support and cultivate a preventative safety culture that works to reduce or eliminate risk of injury and illness on the Chalk River Project. The HSE Specialist is a reliable and knowledgeable resource for workers, supervisors, foremen, managers and executives to provide support, advice, inspections, training, document management and hazard identification. This is a fixed term contract role for the duration of the Chalk River project.
Supporting operations and Project Leadership in managing risk by : analyze and interpret data to identify opportunities of improvement
enhancing our safe work procedures by utilizing lessons learned
analyze HSE training needs and provide recommendations of training to ensure competency and awareness of workers
consulting for operations on new project site specific safety plans
advising on safety topics
incident and claim management
