Job summary

Mattr, Flexpipe division, in Calgary, AB, is seeking an HSE Specialist to strengthen a proactive safety culture and lead health, safety and environmental programs at the site. You will partner with site leadership to protect employees and ensure consistent application of safety standards.

Responsibilities include executing HSE programs, leading JSAs and audits, delivering training, driving continuous safety improvements, and collaborating across functions while traveling up to 10–15%.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Fire Science, or related field.
  • HSE certification with 3–5 years of relevant experience; 5+ years preferred.
  • Experience in manufacturing environments, preferably heavy manufacturing or construction.
  • Familiarity with HSE systems and tools such as ERP platforms and MS Office.
  • Proven ability to design and deliver effective training programs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to drive results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated with a positive, solution-oriented mindset.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10–15% as required.
