Job Summary

We’re looking for an experienced Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Manager to lead and strengthen our organization’s safety and sustainability programs across infrastructure and telecommunications projects. This leadership position combines strategic vision with hands‑on field expertise, inspiring teams to uphold a proactive safety culture and ensuring full compliance with provincial and federal standards.

Responsibilities
  • Lead, maintain and continuously improve the company’s Health, Safety & Environmental Management System (HSEMS).
  • Coach and mentor HSE Coordinators, supervisors, and project teams to promote proactive safety behaviors.
  • Develop, implement and maintain safety and environmental policies, procedures, and training programs aligned with Alberta and federal regulations.
  • Manage COR/SECOR certifications, internal audits, and external compliance reviews.
  • Oversee incident investigations, root cause analysis, and ensure corrective actions are documented and resolved.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, subcontractors and regulatory agencies regarding HSE matters.
  • Analyze and report safety performance metrics, identifying trends and presenting insights to senior leadership.
  • Champion initiatives that foster psychological safety, open reporting and employee engagement.
  • Lead emergency response planning, crisis management and preparedness programs.
  • Drive continuous improvement and uphold a culture of accountability and care.
Requirements (Required)
  • Solid, progressive HSE experience in construction, utilities, telecommunications or infrastructure.
  • Strong understanding of occupational health and safety legislation, audit standards and industry best practices.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, influence safety culture and build trusted relationships.
  • Excellent communication, leadership and coaching skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with attention to detail.
Preferred
  • Post‑secondary education in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering or related field.
  • Recognized certifications such as CRSP, CHSC or NCSO.
  • Experience leading HSE programs for telecommunications, civil infrastructure or energy projects.
