Overview

AtkinsRéalis Inc., in collaboration with its partners, is proud to have been awarded the project for the extension of the #BlueLine of the Montréal metro, valued at over $7.6 billion.
This extension will span approximately 6.2 km of tunnel and include the addition of five (5) stations east of the current Saint-Michel station: Pie-IX, Viau, Lacordaire, Langelier, and Anjou (terminus).

We are currently seeking a Construction Site Health and Safety Coordinator (CoSS). Reporting to the Project Health, Safety and Environment Manager, you will be responsible for monitoring the implementation of the HSE program and initiatives on site, ensuring compliance with the HSE management system and applicable health and safety legislation.

Your role
  • Lead safety meetings and worker onboarding sessions as needed;
  • Review and inspect work, equipment, and the site to ensure safety requirements are met;
  • Review and enforce contractors’ safe work methods and task safety analyses;
  • Cooperate during inspections by CNESST and other regulatory bodies visiting the site;
  • Conduct subcontractor compliance audits;
  • Provide leadership in health and safety by fostering engagement, collaboration, and promoting best practices;
  • Support and advise all directors, managers, consultants, and other project stakeholders regarding conduct, incident investigations, and root cause analysis;
  • Promote awareness of occupational health and safety requirements and values;
  • Adhere to all AtkinsRéalis HSE policies and procedures;
  • Advise and support project stakeholders in the proper use of HSE program tools and contribute to high standards of health and safety;
  • Be an effective and valuable contributor to the site’s Health, Safety and Environment team.
About you
  • Possession of a CNESST-issued Safety Officer or Construction Site HSE Coordinator certification (mandatory);
  • Proficiency in French (spoken and written);
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction or other relevant fields;
  • Experience in accident investigation and workplace inspections (ICAM certification is an asset);
  • Experience in implementing HSE programs;
  • In-depth knowledge of applicable HSE laws and regulations;
  • Proficiency in basic office software;
  • Dynamic, autonomous, rigorous, proactive, and strong team player;
  • Knowledge of underground work and track equipment installation is an asset;
  • Availability for variable shifts (day, evening, night) and weekends.
