Job summary

FLINT Corp. is seeking an HSE Advisor to coordinate the Health, Safety, and Environment function across operations in Alberta.

You will report to the HSE Manager and lead safety orientations, training, hazard assessments, site inspections, and incident investigations to ensure compliance with policies and regulatory standards. You will monitor safety performance, drive continuous improvement, and collaborate with management and subcontractors to maintain a safe, compliant, and efficient work

Qualifications

• Professional certification as NCSO is required.
• CRST/CRSP designation is considered an asset.
• Experience with HSE Management Systems and audit tools (e.g., COR) is valued.
• Certification as Internal Auditor with Energy Safety Canada or ACSA is an asset.

Job Description

As a HSE Advisor you will be responsible for coordinating the day-to-day activities of the Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) function and providing expert guidance to support operations. Reporting to the HSE Manager, this role promotes a strong safety culture by leading orientations and training, assisting with hazard assessments, inspections, and incident investigations, and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory standards. The HSE Advisor also monitors safety performance, supports corrective actions, and collaborates with management and subcontractors to drive continuous improvement and maintains a safe, compliant, and efficient work environment.

What would you be doing?

• Promote a strong Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) culture among employees and subcontractors, ensuring all activities align with company core values and safety standards.
• Lead and support orientations, training, and site inspections, helping management and crews understand and meet safety requirements.
• Participate in pre-job and client meetings, assist with hazard assessments, workplace inspections and incident investigations to ensure compliance with regulations and internal protocols.
• Monitor and report safety performance, maintain accurate statistics, and work with managers to address corrective actions and subcontractor compliance.
• Advise and train management and workers on health and safety legislation, best practices, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Professional certification as NCSO required.

• Experience with HSE Management Systems and audit tools including Alberta Partnerships Certificate of Recognition (COR).
• Certification as an Internal Auditor with Energy Safety Canadaor ACSA considered an asset.
