Course Number and Title: IRE1720HS - Managing Organizational Change
IRE1720HS has two objectives: (1) to introduce students to the field of organizational change management and (2) to enhance students’ analytic and implementation skills. This course focuses on understanding organizational change, aligning human resources to organizational change, and implementing organizational change. The class process is participative. As much of the learning will come from discussions and experiential exercises with peers, it is vital that students come prepared to make contributions of quality to the content and process of classes. In discussions, students will practice appreciative inquiry skills.

Schedule: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 18:00 – 20:00
This course is scheduled to be delivered in-person. Please note that the course delivery method may change as determined by the University or the Center.
Sessional Dates of Appointment: July 1, 2026 – August 31, 2026
Rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail if they differ from those stated in this posting.
Completed Ph.D. in Industrial Relations, Human Resources, or related discipline; or a combination of advanced degrees (e.g., MIRHR/MBA/LLB in applicable area) and equivalent professional background.
Expert knowledge of the subject area and demonstrated ability in university teaching. Previous experience teaching a similar course is preferred.
Prepare a course syllabus in accordance with departmental guidelines. Prepare and lectures (12 two‑hour classes); be available for office hours and informal communications with students. Assess and evaluate students’ work and provide final course grades in accordance with university and departmental practices. Supervise Teaching Assistant(s), if applicable.
