Position Overview
Reporting to the Chief People Officer, the HR Manager will lead strategic HR initiatives that support talent development, employee engagement, health and safety, DEIA (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Access), and total rewards. This role is central to cultivating a supportive and high-performing organizational culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and professional development.
- Act as a strategic advisor to leadership on HR policies, workforce planning, and labour relations.
- Champion culture-building efforts that promote respect, inclusion, and collaboration.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and promote staff well-being.
- Lead a multidisciplinary HR team, including Payroll & Benefits, HR Generalist, and Systems Coordinator.
- Develop and implement learning and development initiatives that support employee growth.
- Partner with managers to design engagement strategies aligned with organizational goals.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- CHRP or CHRL designation is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in HR leadership within a unionized environment.
- Demonstrated success in driving employee engagement and fostering a positive workplace culture.
- Extensive knowledge of labour relations, including relevant legislation, collective bargaining frameworks grievance processes, and dispute resolution.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems, payroll, and benefits administration.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with expertise in coaching and conflict resolution.
