Position Overview

Reporting to the Director, Human Resources, this position is responsible for supporting a variety of HR functions. Role Accountabilities
Onboarding and Offboarding
  • Coordinates new hire onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure smooth transitions for employees. Supports the exit interview process including providing regular reporting on trends.
Employee Experience and Engagement
  • Supports the annual engagement survey process by developing the communication plan, managing survey administration, and compiling and reporting on results.
  • Acts as a culture champion and administers all recognition programs across the business.
  • Administers the employee referral program ensuring a fair and transparent process is followed.
Health and Safety and Leave Management
  • Collaborates with the HRBPs to ensure compliance with workplace safety standards nationally including health and safety program coordination and administration across all sites.
  • Coordinates and tracks employee leaves: short- and long-term disability, maternity and personal leaves.
Compliance and Policy Management
  • Assists in the development, implementation, and regular updating of HR policies and procedures.
  • Supports the Annual Policy Acknowledgement process by tracking completion, preparing reports, and coordinating follow-up with leaders and their teams.
  • Maintains awareness of HR trends, changes to employment law, and the labour market environment in which the company operates.
  • Monitors and reports on the status of work permits nationally and proactively follows up for any required documentation, collaborating closely with the site’s HR Business Partner.
Other
  • Proactively identifies and contributes to initiatives that enhance HR processes, systems, and efficiency.
  • Supports planning of internal company events.
  • Performs other ad-hoc duties as required to support projects, departmental goals and organizational needs.
What You Will Bring to The Team
  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources Management or a related field.
  • 3+ years of progressive experience working in a Human Resources generalist capacity.
  • Experience working in multi-unit manufacturing, retail or healthcare environments is preferred.
  • Proven experience in health and safety with a valid JHSC certification.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a sense of urgency.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with others.
  • Strong attention to detail with a proven ability to exercise a high level of integrity and confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft SharePoint is a plus.
  • Previous advanced experience working in HRMS systems.
Location

320 Bay Street, 1–2 days per week.
