Responsibilities
- Provide advice and counsel to managers and employees to ensure consistent application and integration of policies, procedures and practices at 100% compliance to promote an ethical and compliant work environment
- Continuously review, develop and maintain harmonised policies, benefits, contracts of employment, systems and processes and drive the employee and manager self-service model
- Maintain current in-depth knowledge of standards and legislations related to day to day management of employees, reducing employment legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance
- Define, create, and implement consistent standards, guidelines and processes supporting labor and employment issues.
- Take ownership of specific HR projects and special cases, such as occupational safety, attendance management, BEM & BGM processes, and legal compliance related to contracts and employee relations
- Conducting negotiations with employee representative bodies at site (IG metal works), company and group level in all matters relating to co-determination law in cooperation / partnership with the subject matter experts and the HR lead for Germany
- Represent Mitel when dealing with unions and / or industry and employer associations, preparation of and participation in collective bargaining negotiations
- Providing Senior advice on all individual and collective labor law issues.
- Representation of the company in labor law matters (e.g. authorities and at court hearings)
Co-operation in interdisciplinary projects
- Ensure continuous effective partnership with the global People & Culture teams, our business leaders and global functional teams
- Ensure that Mitel’s HRIS system (WorkDay) and any other HR systems, are kept up to date and that new starters, changes and leavers are processed correctly and in accordance with the defined timelines. Ensure data integrity at all times through regular auditing controls
- Oversee personnel and organizational tasks, including onboarding, offboarding, contract administration, and compliance with labor laws
- Develop and refine internal workflows, policies, and systems to enhance employee experience, streamline operations, and adapt to the evolving needs of the company
Requirements
- Completed relevant professional education, Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources preferred
- Several years of professional experience as HR generalist
- 10+ years of relevant experience in applying labor and employment law within a dynamic, multinational matrix business environment, preferably in high tech industry
- Track record in handling complex employee relations matters, inter-alia litigation on individual and collective matters, and co-determination aspects
- Superior negotiation skills and strong presentation and facilitation skills at all levels of the organization;
- Good knowledge of labor, income tax and social security laws of Germany, Switzerland, and Austria, and experience. Working in metall tariff regulated organizations in Germany would be advantageous
- Fluency in German and English
- Communication skills and experience in negotiations with Works Councils
- Confident and customer-oriented demeanor
- Eagerness to learn, motivation, proactive approach and solution-orientation
Additional Preferred Skills
- Experience in global matrix organizations would be a plus
- Have worked previously in the IT / Tech / Telecoms industry and is used to a fast paced, constantly changing and matrixed environments
- Fast, responsive and action orientated. Willing to roll up sleeves to provide excellent HR operational support
- Ability to solve problems by identifying the root cause and negotiating satisfactory resolution based on practice and previous experience
- Comfortable with high volume workload and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
