Job summary

University of British Columbia in Vancouver is seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to provide guidance across employee relations, performance, compensation, benefits, and talent management. The role requires partnering with leaders to interpret policy and ensure workplace health and safety compliance.

You will manage full-cycle recruitment, onboarding, offboarding, and HRIS data integrity while driving process improvements and supporting organizational change.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience in a Business Partner/Generalist/Advisor role.
  • Knowledge of Employment Standards Act, Human Rights and WorkSafe legislation.
  • Experience with HRIS/ATS/Payroll Systems; BambooHR is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Provide HR guidance across employee relations, performance management, compensation, benefits, talent management, and safety.
  • Manage full-cycle recruitment: screening, interviewing, background checks, and offers.
  • Coordinate onboarding, new hire orientation, offboarding, and exit interviews with HRIS data accuracy.
  • Prepare employment letters, verification letters, and severance documents.
  • Analyze HR data and prepare reports to support planning and decision making.
  • Recommend policy, process, and HR system improvements to boost efficiency and experience.
  • Build relationships with external HR vendors and coordinate with service providers.
  • Lead HR projects from planning through implementation and manage change.
