An educational institution in Ontario is seeking a dynamic HR Assistant to provide administrative support in the HR division. The ideal candidate will have a community college diploma in office administration and 2-3 years of relevant experience in a human resources environment. Familiarity with HR processes and strong Office skills are essential. This full-time role offers a salary range of $53,116 to $62,434 per annum.

HR Assistant
Administrative and Support Staffing Division
1.0 Term Assignment to April 2026
35 hours per week Monday to Friday
$53116 to $62434 per annum (Union Exempt Level 1)
Under the direction of the Team Manager HR Services and the general guidance of the Advisors of Human Resources the Human Resources Assistant provides confidential administrative support to the Administrative & Support Staff team and supports the smooth operation of the division; The HR Assistant establishes develops and maintains various internal office routines; assists with staffing and recruitment; maintains casual information and files; assists with research; and serves as the frontline contact to all employees requiring services in the Administrative & Support Staff area of Human Resources.
Community college diploma in office administration and 2-3 years of relevant experience. Experience working in a human resources environment is an asset. An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered.
Knowledge of human resources processes related Board policies and procedures and relevant collective agreements and / or handbooks.
Advanced level of proficiency with Word and Excel in order to generate and track large volumes of correspondence and other related HR documents.
Proficient in other software applications including Google Docs / Sheets HR / Payroll Integrated System and an application database system is considered a strong asset.
Essential to this position is the ability to organize and manage workload multiple & conflicting priorities and demands while meeting daily and weekly deadlines.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required for exchanging directing and / or providing general HR information to others using tact diplomacy and discretion.
Protecting confidentiality integrity and privacy of employee information and files.
Must be able to demonstrate initiative and use good judgment skills.
Demonstrates a commitment to customer service and ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
