Are you passionate about people? We are looking for a dedicated HR Advisor to join our team! As an HR Advisor, you'll be the go‑to person for managers and supervisors, guiding them through various employee‑related issues and helping them understand our company policies and provincial employment laws. You'll have the chance to collaborate closely with different business units, investigate concerns, and even deliver some HR training sessions.

Workplace Arrangements:

Location: HR Advisor will follow a hybrid remote/onsite schedule. Applicants to this role can expect to work on‑site from our Distribution Centres in Johnstown and Brockville, Ontario 4 days a week.

What You’ll Be Doing:
  • Execute on aspects of the people plan (labour, process and tools) as assigned by the HR Business Partner.
  • Communicate and train on HR systems, programs and processes that are in place to support functional areas HR needs and Gaps.
  • Execute compliance around HR policies/labour legislation for your business unit and identify risks and actions to elevate to the HR Business Partner as needed.
  • Communicate with COEs and HR Ops to resolve any concerns for your business unit and ensure that you escalated feedback from your business unit to the HR Business Partner.
  • Provide coaching, counselling and responses on employee relations and labour relations programs, policies and procedures that impact your business unit.
  • Build business relationships as a trusted and proactive HR advisor through our HR Best Practices to drive employee engagement.
What You’ll Bring:
  • Post Secondary education in Human Resources or related discipline; or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of experience in a HR role
  • 2+ years experience in employee relations, conducting investigations, and resolving conflicts, including supporting Ministry of Labour and Human Rights claims
  • Skilled at building and maintaining positive working relationships with business leaders
  • Excellent attention to detail with written work
  • Proven ability to effectively communicate in a positive way
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong decision‑making and critical‑thinking skills.
  • Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate provincial employment law, policies and regulations
  • Strong computer skills in using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint are required
  • Acts with the highest professional standards of personal and professional integrity
Assets You May Have
  • Bilingualism English and French
  • Experience working in an HRIS
