Venor is proud to partner with our client, New Found Gold, in the recruitment of a HR Advisor. Based out of Gander, Newfoundland, New Found Gold holds a 100% interest in the Queensway Gold Project, as well as the recently acquired Hammerdown Operation, Pine Cove Operation and Nugget Pond Hydrometallurgical Gold Plant circuit. The company is committed to responsible exploration and mining, leveraging strong infrastructure and a skilled local workforce in Newfoundland and Labrador.

As we scale up operations, we’re looking to build a strong people-oriented HR function to support our workforce and corporate growth. Reporting to the HR Manager, you will act as a trusted HR partner — delivering end-to-end HR services and contributing to a positive, inclusive, and high-performing workplace culture.

Position Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the full employee lifecycle — recruitment and staffing, onboarding, orientation, and offboarding.
  • Maintain and update organizational charts, HR records, policies and procedures.
  • Administer compensation, benefits, performance management, and employee wellness programs.
  • Provide advice, support and guidance to managers and employees on HR policies, labour legislation, and best practices.
  • Assist with employee relations, conflict resolution, investigations, and disciplinary processes as required.
  • Support training, development, and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute to workforce planning and support workforce strategies aligned with company growth and operational goals.
  • Help promote a safe, inclusive, respectful, and equitable workplace culture.
Qualifications
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in HR generalist or advisor roles. Previous experience in mining, resource, or industrial industries is an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian (and NL) employment and labour law, HR best practices, and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal skills, and ability to build strong relationships across all levels.
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, professionalism, and sound judgment.
  • Well-organized, detail-oriented, with strong multitasking and time-management skills.
  • Comfort working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment; flexibility to travel to site locations as needed.
