Job summary

A local non-profit organization in Northeastern Ontario is seeking a full-time HR Administrator to provide administrative support in people and culture activities. The ideal candidate will have a post-secondary degree in Human Resources or Business Administration, with experience in HR administration. Fluency in both English and French is required, along with strong organizational skills and a knowledge of HR best practices. This role offers a starting salary of $28.20 per hour.

Permanent Full-Time
35 hours per week (days, evenings, weekends)

Location: Main Office (201 Jogues Street, Sudbury, ON)

Responsibilities

The HR Administrator will be responsible for providing a consistently high standard of secretarial and administrative support in all people and culture activities. This role will include providing assistance in the organization of the overall workload and ensure the effective use of manpower and resources to assist in the smooth running of the department. This role focuses on managing employee files, recruitment support, onboarding, data entry for HR reporting, visa and permit tracking, general administration, and incident report management, while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.

Qualifications and Skills
Education & Certificates
  • Post-Secondary degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Willingness to pursue professional development an asset.
  • Current CPIC
  • Valid “G” Ontario driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle (required).
Experience
  • 1-3 years of experience in an HR administrative role.
  • Experience with international recruitment and immigration programs (RNIP, OINP, IRCC, work permits, etc.) is an asset.
  • Knowledge of the early years and non-profit sector is an asset.
  • Knowledge of WSIB claims, return-to-work coordination, and incident report management an asset.
Skills
  • Ability to work fluently, orally and in writing, in both official languages, French and English (required).
  • Strong understanding of HR policies, employment laws, and best practices.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a high level of discretion and confidentiality.
  • Ability to exhibit tact, diplomacy and good judgement
