Job summary

A local government entity in Ontario is seeking a Full-time Custodian for their Facilities and Capital Infrastructure department. The role includes daily cleaning, safety inspections, and general maintenance of buildings managed by the Housing Programs Branch. Candidates should have a Grade 12 Diploma, experience in cleaning and maintenance, and the ability to work independently. This position offers a Monday to Friday schedule, 35 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent and a valid driver’s license.
• One to two years' experience in general cleaning practices and property maintenance.
• Able to safely and competently use hand and power tools.

Responsibilities

• Daily cleaning of the building including garbage removal and cleaning of common areas.
• Respond to emergency issues and assist property supervisors.
• Perform minor repairs including carpentry, plastering, painting, plumbing.
• Carry out grounds maintenance such as snow clearing and grass cutting.
