Position Summary

The Housekeeping Supervisor, while receiving support from the Operations Supervisor, is responsible for overseeing and organizing the cleaning activates for the housekeeping department prior to, during, and following events. The Housekeeping Supervisor is also responsible for the day-to-day cleanliness of the facility, including but not limited to bathrooms, dressing rooms, offices, hallways, stairwells and entrances.

This role pays an hourly rate of $24.00 to $26.00 CAD

About The Venue

The Ovintiv Events Centre operated by Oak View Group is the premier event facility providing a wide range of sports and entertainment opportunities for the Alberta and British Columbia Peace Region.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for day-to-day building cleanliness; planning, coordinating, supervising, and executing as well as doing the same on event or game days
  • Responsible for hiring, training, scheduling, motivating and disciplining housekeeping staff
  • Touring facility to ensure total cleanliness
  • Supervise housekeeping staff for non-event tasks or projects, as required
  • Maintain clean housekeeping equipment and work areas, as well as perform inspections as needed
  • Maintain cleaning product inventory and place orders as needed
  • Seasonal maintenance projects as required
  • Assist the Operations Supervisor with additional projects as required
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in an arena, sports complex, convention centre, hotel or other public assembly facility.
  • Minimum one (1) year of supervisory responsibilities
  • Minimum High School Diploma or Equivalent. Post-secondary level education an added asset. Will consider experience in lieu of education
  • Strong leadership qualities, with emphasis in working with and training staff
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain a current CPR certificate
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain a driver’s license
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain an RSA Certificate
  • Working knowledge of the proper use of cleaning supplies and materials
  • Familiar with terminology used in entertainment and convention settings
