Job description

The Housekeeping Attendant is responsible for the cleanliness and orderly presentation of rooms and public areas to create a positive impression for guests. The individual performs cleaning, replenishes amenities, and supplies as well as checks and reports items in need of maintenance or replacement. This department plays a crucial role in ensuring that the physical aspects of the hotel meet high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and presentation.

Responsibilities
  • Clean and prepare guest rooms for incoming guests, including changing bed linens, replenishing amenities, vacuuming, dusting, and ensuring the room is pristine.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of public areas such as lobbies, corridors, and elevators to meet hotel standards.
  • Report any maintenance issues, such as carpet cleaning requirements and pest infestations.
  • Handle Lost and Found items and report them to the Floor Supervisors/Housekeeping office.
  • Ensure all cleaning tools and equipment are clean and kept in good working condition.
  • Maintain stock inventory of cleaning supplies, amenities, and linens to prevent shortages.
  • Perform daily tasks efficiently while maintaining high standards of cleanliness in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Assist guests with queries and resolve any guest feedback or issues related to housekeeping.
  • Perform any other related duties as assigned by the Housekeeping Supervisor.
Requirements
  • Minimum 1 year experience in a housekeeping role.
  • Ability to converse in English.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with shift work.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and a strong work ethic.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to perform rotating shifts and a 6‑day work week.
  • Willingness to work on weekends and public holidays.
  • Willingness to commit overtime when required.
  • On‑the‑job training provided for those without relevant experience.
