Job summary

Connecting-Care- Housekeeping role is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, order, and sanitation throughout the community, ensuring safe and comfortable environments for residents, guests, and staff. Responsibilities include cleaning resident rooms and common areas, replenishing supplies, and following infection control policies while using PPE as required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• WHMIS training for handling cleaning chemicals is beneficial.
• CPR or First Aid Certification is a plus but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect resident rooms and bathrooms.
• Dust, vacuum, mop floors, and polish surfaces in resident rooms.
• Change bed linens, replace towels, and replenish room supplies while inviting resident participation.
• Empty trash and recycling bins in resident rooms, replacing liners.
• Replenish cleaning supplies, toiletries, and essentials in resident rooms.
• Clean and disinfect dining areas and common spaces.
• Dust, vacuum, mop floors, and polish surfaces in common areas.
• Maintain cleanliness in corridors, stairways, elevators, and other common areas.
• Perform deep cleaning tasks in common areas (carpet, upholstery, high dusting).
• Ensure cleaning equipment is maintained and stored correctly in common areas.
• Monitor stock levels and report maintenance or low-stock issues.
• Follow safety guidelines when using cleaning chemicals and PPE.
• Comply with infection control policies to prevent spread of germs.
• Report damage, maintenance issues, or safety concerns to the supervisor.
• Communicate effectively with residents, guests, and staff to address needs.
• Engage residents in conversation and greet them respectfully.
• Respond promptly to special requests or concerns related to cleanliness or supplies.

This role ensures that all assigned areas, including resident rooms, common areas, and service areas, are cleaned and maintained to the highest standard, creating a safe and comfortable environment for residents, guests, and employee care partners. By fostering relationships and honoring each resident’s preferences, the Housekeeper helps create a warm, inviting atmosphere that feels like home.

Required Education & Documentation
