Job summary

The Sioux Lookout Meno Ya Win Health Centre is seeking an energetic and enthusiastic individual to maintain a clean and sterile environment in all areas of the hospital for patients, staff and visitors. Training will be provided.

Applicants must be able to work days, evenings, nights and weekends according to the schedule and be prepared for full-time hours. The role emphasizes infection control, safety and independent teamwork across departments.

Qualifications

• Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent preferred or asset.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
• Excellent attendance is required.
• Ability to work in a team environment and independently.
• Must be physically able to perform all assigned tasks.
• Must have a valid G driver’s license or capable of completing upon hire date.
• Knowledge and understanding of PIDAC best practices in environmental cleaning.

Responsibilities

• Maintains appearance and cleanliness of the hospital using cleaning equipment and chemicals.
• Daily cleaning of patient, resident, public and office areas per routine schedule.
• Adherence to Infection Control Procedures.
• Maintain safety standards at all times.
• Ability to work days, evenings, nights and weekends as schedule requires.
• Work full-time hours.
• Adhere to policies on cleaning, hand hygiene and PPE in support of Infection Control and attend training when necessary.

• Considerable walking, lifting, standing, pushing, pulling and bending.
