Job summary

The Ottawa Catholic School Board is hiring a part-time Housekeeper at St. Matthew High School in Ottawa, Ontario.

The role is 3 hours per day, 5 days weekly during standard school hours, with a starting rate of $23.32 per hour plus 4% vacation pay, and a benefits and pension package. Under the Principal's direction, duties include organizing snacks/meals for DE classrooms, keeping areas clean, laundry, and contributing to a safe, sanitized environment.

Qualifications

• Secondary School Diploma or equivalent, or working towards an OSSD.
• Preference will be given to those with two years housekeeping and/or related experience.
• Good understanding of safe food handling and housekeeping practices.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills; team player.
• Up to date First Aid and CPR certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Organizes daily snacks and meals for students within our Developmental Education (DE) classrooms.
• Maintains cleanliness of preparation and eating areas.
• Laundry and dish washing.
• Ensures a safe and sanitized environment.
• Participate as an important member of the DE classroom team.
• Performs other duties, as assigned.

• Previous experience working with children with exceptionalities would be considered an asset
• Up to date First Aid and CPR certification is preferred

Schedule: 3 hours per day/5 days per week (15 hours per week) during regular school hours typically late morning and over the lunch period.

Compensation: Starting hourly wage is $23.32/hour plus 4% pay in lieu of vacation. There is also a benefits and pension package available.

Start Date: This is a permanent position starting as soon as possible.
