Job summary

COMPASS GROUP CANADA in Victoria, BC is seeking a casual housekeeper to support cleaning in a healthcare environment. You will perform cleaning duties to keep areas orderly and safe for residents and staff.

The role requires reliable time management, good English communication, and the ability to lift up to 20 pounds. Availability on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and at least one weekend day is preferred. Training and safety guidelines will be provided.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect areas such as washrooms, surgical procedure areas and patient rooms.
• Strip, wash, and make beds; collect and fold linen.
• Damp mop hard floors and perform carpet extraction as needed.
• Check all primary areas and maintain cleanliness in lobbies, elevators, stairs and mezzanines.
• Remove all garbage from resident and common areas.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident and personnel information.
• Maintain a safe environment and use wet floor signs as required.
• Respond to emergency cleanups as required.

Job description

"The hourly wage rate for this position is $24.34 - (base pay + SSO wage*)*Base $18.25 + $6.49/hr. SSO wage) *Single Site Order (SSO) is subject to the direction of government and may be discontinued at any time. You will be responsible for performing light cleaning duties that maintain the establishment in a clean and orderly manner."

How you will make an impact:

As a casual housekeeper, you will:

• Clean and disinfect areas and items such as surgical procedure areas, washrooms, operating room tables, stretchers, vents, interior windows, walls, glass, doors, and mirrors
• Strip, wash, and make beds; collect and fold linen
• Damp mop hard floors and auto-scrub as needed
• Check all primary areas, lobbies, stairwells, elevators/escalators, and mezzanines and clean as required
• Vacuum carpeted areas and complete carpet extraction as needed
• Remove all garbage from resident/patient rooms and common areas
• Maintain confidentiality of all resident and personnel information
• Maintain a safe environment at all times (e.g., use of wet floor signs)
• Perform duties according to health and safety guidelines
• Report all injuries and hazards to the supervisor immediately
• Responding to emergency cleanups as required

About you:

• Previous housekeeping experience, preferably in healthcare, hotel, or commercial cleaning, is an asset.
• Strong time management and organizational skills to be able to manage a heavy workload.
• Good command of the English language, both verbal and written.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Physical ability to perform all aspects of the job, including requirements to lift up to 20 pounds
• Looking for an availability on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and one weekend day
