Job summary

Aramark is seeking a dedicated Housekeeper for a long-term care home in Windsor, Ontario. You will perform daily cleaning of resident rooms, washrooms, and common areas, with attention to sanitation, safety, and guest comfort.

Candidates should have reliable work ethic, strong attention to detail, and good communication with clients and staff. Physical tasks include lifting and standing, and PPE may be required.

As a professional Housekeeper working in a long term care home on our team, you'll take pride and ownership in cleaning and maintaining the cleanliness and sanitattion of all locations in our home to help keep our guests happy and healthy. Integrity and attention to detail are also two must-have tools that you keep in your cleaning case.

You are responsible for daily cleaning of resident rooms, washrooms, activity areas, TV areas, and dining rooms. You will be responsible for the cleaning and sanitation of the hair salon, offices, recreation rooms, and the auditorium. You are responsible for maintaining a clean and organized work space at all times.

If working in laundry, you are responsible for maintaining clean and sanitzed resident clothing and general linens. Folding and hanging clothes and linens as per our guidelines. You will be responsible for the maintenance of a clean work space as well.

Job Responsibilities

• Maintains friendly, efficient, positive customer service demeanor toward customers, clients, and co-workers. Is adaptable to customer needs.
• Maintains all assigned ancillary and department areas and corridors in a clean neat and sanitary manner, to protect safety and health of others and in compliance with accurate preventative maintenance procedures as outlined in department policy.
• Inspects and uses judgment in determining which cleaning techniques outlined in orientation guidelines to follow.
• Demonstrates efficient and safe use of housekeeping equipment and solutions as observed by supervisor.
• May disinfect and sterilize equipment and supplies, using germicides and sterilizing equipment.
• Diligently employs universal precautions when disposing of trash and bio-hazardous materials.
• Keeps cart properly stocked with equipment and cleaning supplies; ensures all chemicals are accurately labeled, and all equipment is in good working condition.
• Promotes effective interpersonal and interdisciplinary relationships, maintains professional conduct at all times.
• Assists in improving productivity and efficient operations of the department.
• Demonstrates commitment to professional growth and competence by adherence to component and departmental training commitments.

This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
