Job summary

A community-focused organization is seeking a part-time cleaning staff member in Port Colborne, Canada. NATURE & SCOPE

To perform all cleaning duties in the branch, as specified in the work schedule. Promote the YMCA and provide excellent customer service using Y WAY standards and principles.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • To ensure that all areas are clean, safe and well organized and meet Y WAY standards.
  • To respond to members concerns in a helpful and positive manner.
  • To support and work as part of a staff/volunteer team to ensure that all YMCA members experience is a positive one.
  • To attend staff meetings, planning sessions and training events as required.
  • To perform other facility cleaning and maintenance duties (when qualified) as assigned.
  • Seasonal job duties as deemed appropriate and necessary (incumbent should come to work dressed appropriately for potential outdoor work).
  • Participate in training and adhere to the YMCA Child Protection Policies and Procedures as established by the YMCA of Niagara, and the Y WAY.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Cleaning experience.
  • Current Emergency First Aid and CPR-B certification
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and operate heavy machinery.
  • Upon hiring, applicants 18 years of age and older must submit a clear and satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) issued for the YMCA of Niagara.
