Job summary

Amenida Senior Community in Oakville, part of Prima Living, is seeking a Housekeeper for a casual on-call role including weekends. You will provide laundry and housekeeping, maintain clean work areas, and keep records under supervision.

You’ll report safety issues, follow daily tasks, and support residents with confidentiality and respect. Requirements include high school graduation with basic housekeeping training and at least one year of related experience.

Qualifications

• High school graduation with basic training in Housekeeping.
• Minimum of one year’s experience in a similar position.

Responsibilities

• Provide laundry and housekeeping services.
• Maintain work and storage areas in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner.
• Keep accurate records of work and supplies.
• Report unsafe or faulty equipment immediately.
• Follow daily tasks assigned by the supervisor.
• Identify and report building deficiencies or damaged equipment to the supervisor.
• Adhere to policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
• Report changes in tenants’ functional or cognitive behavior that may pose risks.
• Ensure tenant rights and confidentiality are respected.
• Interact professionally with residents, co‑workers, and visitors.
• Read and understand relevant communications.
• Complete other duties as requested by the Manager.
• Be prepared to respond to emergencies.

Job Status: Casual – On Call (including weekends)

Location: 299 Randall St, Oakville, ON L6J 6B4

Pay: $18.58/hr

Your Day to Day:

Specifically, the Housekeeper will be responsible for:

• Provide laundry and housekeeping services
• Maintain work and storage areas in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner
• Keep accurate records of work and supplies
• Report unsafe or faulty equipment immediately
• Follow daily tasks assigned by the supervisor
• Identify and report any building deficiencies, and damaged or inoperable furniture, fixtures, or equipment to the supervisor

Additional Responsibilities:

• Adhere to all policies, procedures, work standards, and safety regulations
• Report any observed changes in tenants’ functional and cognitive behavior that may pose a risk to the resident or others, using established communication methods
• Ensure tenant rights, including confidentiality, are respected at all times
• Interact professionally and courteously with residents, co‑workers, and visitors
• Read and understand relevant departmental and interdepartmental communications
• Complete other related duties as requested by the Manager
• Be prepared to respond to and assist in emergency situations

What You Bring to the Table:

• High school graduation with basic training in Housekeeping
• A minimum of one year’s experience in a similar position.
• A non‑equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

• Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
• Good judgment and ability to prioritize assignments
• Ability to work under pressure and maintain a calm focus during hectic periods
• Willingness to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and the capability to adapt to changing circumstances or guest needs.
• Must successfully complete a criminal background check prior to hire, including a Vulnerable Sector Screening, in accordance with applicable provincial and federal regulations.
