A regional college in Montérégie, Canada, is seeking an hourly instructor for the Residential Real Estate Appraisal course. The role requires a licensed Real Estate Broker or Appraiser in Quebec with a solid understanding of property valuation methods and excellent English communication skills. Experience in teaching and real estate market analysis is preferred. The course has a hybrid delivery model, combining in-person and online classes.
The Continuing Education Department of Champlain College Saint‑Lambert requires the services of an HOURLY INSTRUCTOR to teach the course of Residential Real Estate Appraisal (221‑008‑LA).
The goal of this course is to enable students to estimate adequately the market value of a property according to three distinct approaches. The broker’s skill in analyzing the real estate market, his or her technical knowledge, his or her qualitative assessment of the property and, above all, the precision in calculating the value, will make him or her an indispensable advisor in a real estate transaction that is based on transparency. This course will also introduce students to real property concepts and characteristics, legal considerations, influences on real estate values, types of value, economic principles, market area analysis, highest and best use, and ethical considerations providing a solid foundation in basic appraisal principles.
Required Qualifications : Must be either a licensed Real Estate Broker or Agent or Appraiser in Quebec. Must have a thorough knowledge of how to estimate the market value of a property according to distinct approaches : parity, mixed, replacement cost and economic value appraisal methods. Must have a bachelor's degree in a related field, or a minimum of 6 years’ experience as a Residential Real Estate Broker or Agent or Appraiser. This course is taught in English; excellent communication skills in English are required. Teaching experience within a similar program is an asset.

Comments : This course is delivered with a hybrid delivery model : Approximately 20% of course hours will be given in‑person and 80% course hours will be delivered online / at distance.

This course is taught in English. The selected incumbent will be required to work in English.
