Job summary

Naturally Pacific Resort in Campbell River, BC is seeking a Velocity Host to warmly greet guests, seat them, hand menus, and announce server names. You will guide guests to dining or bar areas, manage reservations and wait lists, and keep the reception area tidy in line with OH&S standards.

The role requires excellent customer service, calm communication in a fast-paced environment, and flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Prior host experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task.
• Understanding of restaurant etiquette and OH&S standards.
• Familiarity with health and safety regulations is a plus.
• Strong organizational skills and seating coordination.
• Availability to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Previous Host experience is an asset, as is POS system knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Greet and seat guests upon arrival and provide menus.
• Escort guests to dining or bar areas and acknowledge servers by name.
• Manage reservations, wait times, and waiting lists accurately.
• Maintain a clean reception area and ensure OH&S compliance.
• Coordinate seating options with servers and monitor table distribution.

The Role

As a key member of our team the Velocity Host is responsible for warmly greeting and directing guests as they arrive at the lounge. As the first point of contact, the Host is responsible for making a lasting impression with our guests, and ensuring that they are greeted, checked in, and provided wait time information to the highest standard.

Your contributions to the team include:

• Escort guests to assigned dining or bar areas and assist with extra attention needs.
• Manage reservations, wait times, and waiting lists accurately.
• Maintain a clean reception area and ensure adherence to OH&S standards.
• Monitor table distribution and coordinate seating options with servers.
• Answer incoming calls and address guest queries.
• Thank guests upon departure and invite them to return.
• Additional tasks and duties as assigned.

You will be eligible to receive wages starting from $18.25 to $20.00 per hour, this will be determined by your skill set, education and experience.
