Job summary

Gateway Casinos & Entertainment Limited is seeking a part-time Host/Hostess in Ontario. You will engage guests, manage reservations and seating, and support servers to ensure a premium dining experience. A welcoming presence and the ability to handle multiple tasks under pressure are essential.

Experience in hospitality, cash handling, and relevant certificates (Serving It Right/Smart Serve) are preferred. This role offers flexible hours, with opportunities for growth across Gateway’s 27

Qualifications

• Host/hostess experience in hospitality/food service preferred.
• Cash handling experience using POS system or cashier register.
• Serving It Right (BC)/ Proserve (Alberta) / Smart Serve (Ontario) certificates preferred.
• World Host / Super Host or similar customer service training is a plus.
• Proven selling, marketing and service skills in dining or promotions.
• Public speaking skills and presence.

Responsibilities

• Engage with guests and provide a premium guest experience.
• Initiate conversations with guests and maintain a welcoming atmosphere.
• Assist with reservations and seating arrangements.
• Support servers with expediting, bussing, and cleaning as needed.
• Maintain flexibility by working evenings and weekends.

What You Bring

• Host/hostess experience in the hospitality/food service industry preferred.
• Cash handling experience using POS system or cashier register.
• Tourism, promotion, marketing, entertainment or event training experience preferred.
• Serving It Right (BC)/ Proserve (Alberta) certificate/ Smart Serve (Ontario).
• World Host / Super Host certificate or other similar customer service programs preferred.
• Proven selling, marketing, and service skills in a dining, retail, or promotions environment.
• Effective public speaking skills and presence.
• Ability to pull, lift and carry objects up to 30 pounds, specifically a fully loaded serving tray.
• Knowledge of specialty food and beverage items.
