Job summary

The Royal is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support inpatient and clinical services within Ontario’s hospital network. Under NAPRA standards, you will perform dispensing, compounding, and medication distribution tasks while maintaining patient safety and regulatory compliance.

You will precept learners, participate in medication history initiatives, and collaborate with pharmacy teams. English proficiency required; French is an asset.

Qualifications

• Registration as Pharmacy Technician with the Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP) is mandatory.
• Experience in hospital settings is an asset.
• Proficient in pharmaceutical calculations.
• Familiar with healthcare terminology.
• Professional, honest and dependable.

Responsibilities

• Scopes of practice per NAPRA Model Standards.
• Operate Epic, Omnicell XT, Omnicell CPM, OCRA, PacMed and related platforms.
• Support medication distribution and pharmacy services for accurate management.
• Precept learners and provide training opportunities.
• Participate in Best Possible Medication History activities.
• Package, prepare, and deliver medications to units or facilities.
• Model best practices and guide other staff to ensure quality.
• Ensure documentation and workflows comply with policies and procedures.
• Maintain quality controls and communicate concerns to teams.
• Communicate effectively and multi-task within the department.
• Uphold safety policies for staff and patients.
• Contribute to continuous quality improvement and patient safety.
