Job summary

Alberta Health Services is seeking a Pharmacy Technician I for Red Deer Regional Hospital. The role focuses on the preparation and distribution of pharmaceutical products, triage of orders, compounding, and packaging of sterile and non-sterile meds.

You will train and orient staff, supervise Pharmacy Assistants, and contribute to patient care through problem solving and discrepancy resolution in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Qualifications

• Completion of a CCAPP-accredited Pharmacy Technician Training Program.
• Current, provisional, or transferable registration with the Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP) as a Pharmacy Technician.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and distribute pharmaceutical products.
• Receive and triage medication orders, compound and repackage medications, and prepare sterile and non-sterile products.
• Provide guidance, assist with training and orientation of staff and students, and supervise Pharmacy Assistants.
• Support direct patient care through problem solving and discrepancy resolution.
