Qualifications

  • Registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP) is mandatory.
  • Previous hospital experience is an asset.
  • Must be able to perform pharmaceutical calculations.
  • Familiar with commonly used health care terminology.
  • Must have a professional attitude, be honest and dependable.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Must attend to details rigorously.
  • Familiar with pharmacy law, ethics, and privacy issues.

Responsibilities

  • Provide pharmacy services under the guidance of Registered Pharmacists.
  • Participate in medication reconciliation activities.
  • Communicate performance and quality standards to team members.
  • Ensure compliance with pharmacy standards and guidelines.
  • Complete daily job duties accurately and on time.
