Job summary

Providence Transitional Care Centre in Kingston, Ontario seeks a Maintenance Plumber to uphold HVAC, heating, water, gas and drainage systems in a hospital setting. You will monitor boilers, rooftop chiller, and emergency generators, perform lubrication on pumps and motors, and contribute to preventive maintenance programs.

Requirements include an Ontario plumbing apprenticeship and experience with HVAC systems; steam fitter certification is preferred. Role is temporary full-time up to one year.

Qualifications

• Completion of a recognized apprenticeship in the plumbing trade by the Ontario Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities.
• Steam Fitter Certification preferred.
• Proven experience working with hot water, steam and air exchange systems (HVAC).
• Experience in a Maintenance Plumber role in a health care setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain & monitor heating, water, gas, drainage and air exchange systems to ensure proper operation; record daily boiler and HVAC readings.
• Maintain rooftop chiller and automated chemical system to designated levels.
• Operate Emergency Generator with Electrician to ensure proper operation and record data.
• Lubricate and check pumps, fans and motors in HVAC systems per maintenance schedule.
• Provide welding/brazing services as required.
• Plan layouts, prepare material estimates, and submit for approval.
