Job Summary

Position: Home Child Care Provider (Permanent)

Location: Mississauga, ON

Employment type: Full time (30 to 40 hours per week)

Work hours: 30 to 40 hours per week

Salary: $20.00 per hour

Work setting: Employer’s home, on site only

Work site environment: Non-smoking, scent free

Optional accommodation: Available at no charge on a live-in basis (not a condition of employment)

Responsibilities

• Supervise and care for children of multiple ages
• Assume full responsibility for the household in the absence of parents
• Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties
• Bathe, dress, and feed children
• Instruct children in personal hygiene and social development
• Maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home
• Organize activities such as games and outings for children
• Prepare and serve nutritious meals
• Prepare children for rest periods
• Tend to the emotional well‑being of children

Job Requirements

• Education: Secondary (high school) graduation certificate or equivalent experience
• Languages: English (required)
• Experience: Previous experience is an asset
• Target audience: Ability to supervise and care for a multi‑aged group of children
• Security and safety: Successful criminal record check
• Weight handling: Able to lift up to 9 kg (20 lbs)
• Personal suitability: Client focus, flexibility, judgement, reliability, time management, patience, honesty
• Travel: Must be able to travel to the work location (public transportation available)
