Overview

We require a nanny who can help in the care and development of our 5-year old with speech and cognitive delay and behavioral aggression. The goal is direct supervision, full to partial assist and support so that child can become increasingly independent.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and care for child.
• Tend to emotional well-being of child according to parents’ directions
• Assume full responsibility for household in absence of parents
• Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties
• Bath and dress child.
• Shop for food and household supplies
• Prepare and serve nutritious meals for child with food aversion
• Take child to and from health and therapy appointments
• Persistent intentional conversation, oral direction and fostering a sensory rich environment to promote speech and sensory development
• Structured learning activities such as life skills, reading to child, play-based learning and one-on-one coaching
• Documentation of child’s progress
• Maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home
• Prepare child for rest periods
• Supervision of homework and play dates
• Ability to alternate AM and PM shifts according to child’s needs

Qualifications

• Education level: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
• Wage: 17.60$/hour

About NN Private Household

We are a happy and welcoming household of four seeking a dedicated and compassionate home child care provider to support our 5-year old son who has has special needs. Our son faces challenges with communication, falling asleep, and has specific food aversions. He displays aggressive behavior such as biting, scratching and kicking if his communication needs are not being listened or attended to. We are looking for someone with patience, experience, a nurturing approach, and a knowledge of how to teach children with additional needs to help create a safe and supportive environment for him. Successful candidate must own a car with valid driver's license in order to take child to his scheduled multiple therapy appointments each week. Child also goes to play center for recreational respite few days each week.
