The position requires a Bachelor of Education and Alberta teaching certification, as well as experience in rural or Indigenous communities. Responsibilities include following the program of studies, planning lessons, and promoting Cree language and culture. This is a full-time position with opportunities for further contract duration based on performance.
Northland School Division is seeking a High School Teacher at Grouard Northland School. The kindergarten to grade 11 school is located in the hamlet of Grouard. The hamlet is one of the oldest settlements in Alberta and was once an important trading hub of the north. It is approximately 33 kimometres from High Prairie. Additionally, should the successful applicant receive a successful evaluation, there may be an opportunity to receive a continuous contract.
