Job summary

Oxford Learning St. Albert is seeking part‑time teacher‑tutors to help high school math and science students. Lessons are pre‑planned and teachers work after school and some Saturdays, with in‑person sessions in St. Albert.

Ideal candidates hold a bachelor’s degree or related certification, or are university students with tutoring experience, and can teach Grades 9–12 math and science topics with strong English communication.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent certification in a relevant field.
  • University students with tutoring experience may be considered.
  • Good knowledge of high school math and science curricula including senior topics.

Responsibilities

  • Teach up to three students at a time, in‑person and online.
  • Follow Oxford Learning methodologies and pre‑planned lessons.
  • Complete daily student updates and post‑lesson notes.
  • Maintain a friendly, professional manner during all sessions.

High School Math/Science Teacher/Tutor Wanted

Motivated by mathematics? Sharp with science? Excited by equations in both fields? Eager to help students succeed in math and science? Gain valuable teaching experience!

Oxford Learning St. Albert is currently seeking part‑time teacher‑tutors for a role in our learning centre. This position is perfect for anyone who loves working with students, enjoys numbers and equations, and is passionate about helping others build their skills in these areas.

Teacher‑tutors at Oxford Learning do not have to lesson plan before class, as all lessons are pre‑planned. Applicants will be fully trained in our proprietary philosophy and methods.

Position Requirements
  • Work during after‑school and evening hours (4:00 pm – 8:00 pm) and some Saturdays (10:00 am – 3:00 pm). A commitment until the end of the term in June is preferred; continuing through the summer is even better.
  • In‑person teaching only. Must be able to commute to the St. Albert location; relocation packages are not available.
  • Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.
  • Reliability and professionalism at all times.
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field.
  • University students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered.
  • Good knowledge of the current Grades 9–12 math and science curriculum, particularly senior math including Advanced Functions, Algebra, Trigonometry, Calculus, and Vectors, and Physics, Chemistry, Biology.
Experience
  • Some experience teaching/tutoring math and science at a Grade 9–12 level.
  • Strong English written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong math skills and ability to guide students’ understanding.
  • Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time.
