Oxford Learning Waterloo Eastbridge is seeking part-time teacher-tutors to help high school students excel in math and science, with a focus on calculus, data management, physics, and chemistry. The role is in-person at our Waterloo Eastbridge centre and requires after-school hours.

Qualifications

High School Math/Science Teacher/Tutor Wanted

Oxford Learning Waterloo Eastbridge is currently seeking part-time teacher-tutors for a role in our learning centre. This position is perfect for anyone who loves working with students, enjoys Calculus and Data Management, High School Physics and/or Chemistry and is passionate about helping others build their skills in these areas.

Position Requirements

All Teacher-Tutors at Oxford Learning work during after-school and evening hours (3:00pm - 8:00pm) as well as some Saturdays (10:00am - 3:00pm). A commitment until the end of the school year (June 30, 2027) is preferred.

This role is in-person. You must be able to commute to this location. This is not an online position. Relocation packages are not available.

Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.

We encourage you to apply if you have the majority of the following requirements:

Education

• Bachelor's degree or similar certification in a relevant field
• Third year university students with tutoring experience will be considered
• Teaching certification an asset
• Good knowledge of the current Grades 11-12 math and science curriculum, particularly senior math and including, but not limited to, Advanced Functions, Calculus, Vectors, Grade 11-12 Physics and Chemistry.

Experience

• Some experience teaching/tutoring math and science at a Grade 9 to 12 (or equivalent) level
• Strong English written and oral communication skills
• Strong math skills and ability to guide students’ understanding
• Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time
