Responsibilities

• Operate pressure washers to clean truck bodies, wheels, and engines.
• Safely measure and apply degreasers and soaps.
• Sanitize interior of trailers and remove debris.
• Inspect for body damage, tire wear, leaks, and report issues.
• Maintain wash truck and store hoses and replenish supplies.
• Follow PPE and environmental regulations.

Job description

Heavy Truck Washer

We are seeking a hardworking, detail-oriented Heavy Truck Washer to join our fleet maintenance team. In this role, you will safely operate industrial high-pressure washing machinery, commercial chemical applications, and hand tools to thoroughly clean and sanitize the interiors and exteriors of semi-trucks, trailers, heavy equipment, and company service vehicles. Your work directly ensures our fleet remains compliant with safety and environmental laws and looks professional on the road.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate Pressure Washers: Utilize commercial cold or hot-water high-pressure systems to strip dirt, heavy mud, and grease from truck body panels, wheels, undercarriages, and engines.
• Apply Chemical Solvents: Safely measure, dilute, and apply industrial degreasers, aluminum brighteners, and soaps via downstream injectors or specialized foaming guns.
• Interior Trailer Sanitizing: Scrub, sweep, shovel, and power-spray the inside of freight or flatbed trailers to remove loose debris, garbage, or product residues.
• Perform Visual Damage Inspection: Visually spot and report body damage, tire wear, leaks, or cracked decals while washing, immediately escalating issues to the shop manager.
• Maintain the Wash Truck: Regularly clean the truck, store heavy-duty hoses on electric reels, replenish chemical stocks, and maintain a clean workspace.
• Safety & Regulatory Compliance: strictly wear standard Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including water-resistant gear, goggles, steel-toe boots, and comply with environmental waste-disposal laws.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Driver's Licence: A valid G driver’s licence.
• Physical Stamina: Capable of standing, bending, crouching, and balancing for long periods of time.
• Heavy Lifting: Ability to repeatedly lift, push, and drag heavy wash-hoses or equipment weighing up to 50 lbs (23 kg).
• Work Environment Adaptability: Comfortable working around loud machinery, high water-pressures, strong soaps, and in fluctuating seasonal weather conditions (extreme heat/cold).
• No Fear of Heights: Comfort climbing ladders or catwalks to scrub the roofs of cabs and tall commercial trailers.
• Experience (Preferred): Prior experience in fleet wash bays, detailing, pressure washing, or automated vehicle washing is highly valued but we will train motivated candidates.
