Position(s): Heavy Equipment Driver
Shift Schedule: Monday - Friday
Location: Sarnia, Ontario

FB Remcon Ltd. is currently looking for an experienced Heavy Equipment Driver (full-time-permanent) to join our team in Ontario. This role will require the candidate to drive and operate various vehicles at our St. Clair Transmission Line Project based out of Sarnia, Ontario. The successful candidate will have prior experience hauling equipment on various trailers and ensure that all functions pertaining to driving, loading, unloading, moving, and inspecting heavy equipment are performed in a safe and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate various pieces of heavy equipment
  • Loading and unloading heavy equipment
  • Performing all duties in a safe and responsible manner
  • Inspecting and reporting any issues with our company truck
  • Providing excellent customer service on all deliveries and pick-ups
  • Plan trip logistics and obtain required documentation to transport goods
  • Use and manage log books as required
  • Perform pre-trip, en-route and post-trip inspection of vehicle systems, equipment and accessories such as tires, lights and turning signals, breaks, etc.
  • Perform other tasks related to this function as assigned
Candidate Requirements
  • Minimum three (3) + years of field experience hauling equipment on various trailers, is required
  • Class 1A Operators License, is required
  • Transportation of dangerous goods (TDG) certification is required for drivers who transport hazardous products or dangerous goods.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of proper log book entry and pre-trip inspection, is required
  • Experience in Powerline Construction, an asset
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to work efficiently and effectively within a dynamic team to complete jobs within deadlines
  • Flexible with hours worked, travel, and working in adverse weather conditions
  • Able and willing to accommodate frequent overtime hours and weekend hours when required
  • Able and willing to perform manual labour in varying weather conditions and environments inclusive of heavy lifting
  • Able and willing to provide an acceptable five (5) year Driver's Abstract
