Birch Mountain Enterprises LP in Fort McKay is seeking journeyman Heavy Equipment Technicians to service our Wiggle Wagon fleet and related off-road equipment at our Fort McKay Incubator Park location. Preference given to candidates with water, vac, high pressure and flusher unit experience.

Qualifications

• Must be a certified journeyman heavy equipment technician with off-road experience.
• Knowledge of hydraulic, electronic and computer diagnostics.
• Familiarity with wiggle wagon trucks and related water/vacuum systems.
• Clear verbal and written communication; OSSA certification desirable.

Responsibilities

• Repair or replace defective parts and systems on fleet equipment.

Birch Mountain Enterprises (BME) is hiring journeyman Heavy Equipment Technicians immediately for our Fort McKay Incubator Park Location, located within the Fort McKay First Nation to work on our off-road equipment.

Job Summary:

Operating from our client site, this position involves shop and field repairs to our fleet of Wiggle wagon trucks. Candidates shall have knowledge of all aspects of wiggle wagon trucks with preference given to those who possess experience with water, vac, high pressure, and flusher units.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Repair or replace defective parts, components or systems


• Install new or replacement parts according to manufacturer and/or truck specification


• Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure work completed meets manufacturers’ specifications.


• Completion of repair documentation including but not limited to work order, field level risk assessment, and hazard identification


• Follow instructions for tasks assigned by the shop supervisor


• Complete daily housekeeping of assigned area or service vehicle to ensure maintenance of company image


• Attend daily toolbox and safety meetings as scheduled and adhere to corporate and site safety regulations and procedures.

Qualifications:

• Must be certified as a Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician (min 3 years Off-road experience)


• Possess a valid driver’s license (min class 5) with a clean abstract


• Be knowledgeable in all aspects of heavy truck repair including, but not limited to hydraulic, electronic, suspension, and computer diagnosis


• Previous or related experience with off-road equipment, specifically wiggle wagons


• Previous experience with water, vac, and steam equipment would be considered an asset.


• Clear verbal and written communication skills


• OSSA (or OSSA BSO) and CSTS certification


• Must successfully pass BME pre-employment evaluation, D&A, and fit for duty pre-employment screening
