What We Are Looking For

The ideal candidate will have previous equipment operating and leadership experience, along with the ability to identify challenges, troubleshoot issues, and proactively find solutions. We want team members who take ownership of their tasks, guide crew members, and ensure efficient operations on-site.

Responsibilities include attending safety meetings, conducting hazard assessments (JHA, FLHA, etc.), and ensuring compliance with all site safety regulations.

Scope of Construction Activities:

  • General oil and gas operations to support various site activities.
  • Lease builds, maintenance, and clean-ups to maintain safe and efficient work sites.
  • Fencing installation (barbed wire, chain link, wildlife protection, etc.).
  • Operating small equipment (skid steers, packers, mini excavators – an asset).
  • Leading a small team of 4-6 employees, ensuring efficiency and adherence to project requirements.
  • Completing necessary site documentation as required for the project, including safety paperwork and progress reports.
  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting site challenges to maintain smooth operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead by example by maintaining a proactive approach to work, mentoring less experienced workers, and promoting a culture of safety and accountability.
  • Supervise and coordinate a small crew of 4-6 employees, ensuring work is completed efficiently and safely.
  • Assist with site preparation and cleanup to ensure a well-maintained and organized work environment.
  • Operate and maintain tools and equipment safely, reporting any maintenance needs or safety concerns to supervisors.
  • Ensure all necessary site documentation is completed accurately and submitted in a timely manner.
  • Provide direction and supervision to labourers, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and safely.
  • Adapt to changing work conditions and project demands, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to take on additional responsibilities as required.
  • Support the safe and successful completion of the project through teamwork, initiative, and collaboration with supervisors and fellow crew members.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Valid Class 5 driver's license preferred.
  • Code 20 or Class 1 license is an asset for hauling over 4,500 kg.
  • Valid or willingness to obtain the following oilfield safety tickets: H2S Alive, First Aid, CSO.
  • Strong equipment operation experience (packer, skid steer) is an asset.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in oil and gas or construction.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative while supervising a crew.
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, high-stress environments with changing weather conditions.
  • Familiar with construction safety standards and procedures.
  • Must be willing to work in camp settings when required.

Work Environment & Physical Demands: Work is outdoors, and conditions may include extreme temperatures and uneven ground. Position requires employee to frequently stand, walk, twist, bend, reach and kneel.
