Job summary

Ledcor Group is hiring experienced Heavy Equipment Operators for mining and heavy civil projects near Logan Lake, BC. Roles include Excavator, Packer, Loader and Rock Truck operation on a busy construction site.

We value safety, teamwork, and productivity. Candidates should have 3+ years of heavy equipment experience, the ability to work outdoors in varying conditions, and relevant certifications. Wages and benefits reflect site location and qualifications.

Qualifications

  • Experience operating excavators, rock trucks, loaders, or other heavy construction equipment.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant heavy equipment operating experience preferred.
  • Experience on mining, heavy civil, earthworks, or large-scale industrial construction projects is an asset.
  • Ability to operate equipment without GPS or machine control systems.
  • Experience outdoors in varying weather, congested areas, near underground utilities and overhead power lines.
  • Ability to safely operate equipment in varying ground, terrain, and weather.
  • Strong understanding of equipment inspections and safe operating procedures.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, spotters, and ground personnel.
  • Must provide government-issued photo ID
  • Must complete pre-access drug and alcohol testing
  • Valid CSTS-09, CSTS-2020, or CSO certification
  • Must complete project-specific online orientations

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate Excavator, Packer, Loader, Rock Truck, and other heavy equipment as assigned.
  • Perform earthworks activities including excavation, loading, hauling, backfilling, and material placement.
  • Excavate and load various materials including rock, soil, and aggregate.
  • Operate rock trucks to safely transport materials throughout the project site.
  • Operate loaders to load trucks, move and stockpile materials, maintain work areas, and support ongoing site activities.
  • Perform excavations around structures, utilities, foundations, and other site features as required.
  • Work safely around ground personnel, other equipment, vehicles, and active construction operations.
  • Conduct daily equipment inspections and pre-operational checks and report deficiencies or maintenance concerns.
  • Follow established routes, traffic plans, spotter directions, and site procedures.
  • Understand and follow stakes, markings, drawings, and instructions as required for assigned work.
  • Maintain equipment in a clean and safe operating condition.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, spotters, ground crews, and other equipment operators.
  • Maintain Ledcor’s high standards for safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Complete assigned work safely and efficiently while meeting project requirements and timelines

Qualifications

Work Conditions
  • Work schedule: 14 days on, 7 days off
  • Day shift and night shift opportunities available
  • Extended health benefits provided through CLAC
  • Weekly payment of wages
  • Travel allowance and Living Out Allowance (LOA) provided for those eligible
Compensation

$35.17 - $54.11 per hour

This is the applicable wage range for this position. Individuals will be assigned a base wage within this range based on trade certification and/or apprenticeship level, industry experience, and work location.

Remote, site-based positions may be eligible for additional incentives including but not limited to travel and accommodation allowances.
