Job summary

Scotts Miracle-Gro Company in Canada is seeking a Plant Operator to run PIT and other equipment to move, stack, and load merchandise. You’ll support production by ensuring a steady material flow and help load/unload trucks and pallets.

The role requires at least one year of heavy equipment experience, basic math, and the ability to read and write. You must follow safety rules and may work on holidays or weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

Chez Scotts Miracle-Gro Company, nous cherchons sans relâche à repousser les limites de la performance de culture. Position Overview: The Plant Operator is responsible for operating Powered Industrial Truck (PIT), front end loaders or other equipment to move, locate, relocate, stack, count merchandise, move around finished palleted goods including loading/unloading trucks and flatbeds, prepares organic mixes using a heavy equipment loader, pushes or relocates piles to ensure segregation of materials. Supplies production with a continuous supply of material. Monitors the stockpiles for excessive heat, turns stockpiles, extinguishes small fires and ensures the proper amount of water is used to prepare the stockpile for production use. The Plant Operator is accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the vehicle and may also be required to perform Order Filler and Checker duties. The Plant Operator may be required to work on holidays and weekends from time to time.

Requisite Qualifications: Ability to work in a team; Must have at least one year experience operating a PIT or other heavy equipment; Must be able to do basic math functions such as adding, subtracting and dividing; Must be able to read and write; Must be able to complete the pre-shift inspection forms; Conduct themselves in a manner that promotes safety.
