Job summary

Deric Group in Quebec is seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our Lower North Shore team in Tête-à-la-Baleine. You will perform preventive inspections, diagnose issues, and support large-scale civil projects across remote sites.

You will collaborate with planners and supervisors, read blueprints, and adhere to health and safety standards. Travel rotations of 21 to 35 days within Quebec are required; CCQ Journeyman certification is an asset.

Qualifications

• Vocational Diploma (DEP) in Heavy Equipment Mechanics or equivalent training.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive inspections on equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues.
• Assess component wear and determine replacement requirements.
• Provide planners and supervisors with information to plan major repairs and maintenance.
• Adjust, repair, and replace defective parts and components.
• Perform preventive maintenance, including lubrication, cleaning, and adjustments.
• Test equipment following repairs.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
• Complete inspection and maintenance reports.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and keep the work area clean and organized.

Whatwill your day-to-day look like?

Reportingto the Director of Equipment Rental and Workforce Management, your mainresponsibilities will include:

• Perform preventive inspectionson equipment;
  
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic,and electrical issues;
  
• Assess component wear anddetermine replacement requirements;

Qualifications

• Vocational Diploma (DEP) inHeavy Equipment Mechanics or equivalent training;
  
• 3 to 5 years of experience in asimilar role;
  
• Ability and willingness totravel for work rotations of 21 to 35 days within Quebec's Lower NorthShore region;
  
• Valid CCQ JourneymanCertificate in Heavy Equipment Mechanics is considered an asset;
  
• Intermediate English skills areconsidered an asset, as occasional communication with English-speaking collaboratorsmay be required;
  
• Strong analytical andtroubleshooting skills;
  
• Ability to read blueprints andinterpret maintenance manuals;
  
• Team-oriented mindset.
