Job summary

Sunbelt Rentals – the fastest growing rental business in Canada – is seeking an experienced Technician – You! This hybrid role splits time between the shop and the field to support a 70,000 sq. km service area, including mine sites and infrastructure projects.

You’ll deliver high-quality service and technical expertise on-site or in the shop. You will perform preventive maintenance, advanced diagnostics, and complex repairs on a diverse fleet, from aerial work platforms to pumps and HVAC

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; trade school training is a plus.
• Experience with diesel/heavy equipment or specialty lines preferred.
• Red Seal (Heavy Duty) certification is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and diagnostics on equipment.
• Repair equipment safely and efficiently to minimize downtime.
• Support work in the shop and at remote job sites.
• Operate a range of equipment including Aerial Work Platforms, pumps and HVAC systems.

Job Description Summary

Sunbelt Rentals – the fastest growing rental business in Canada– is seeking an experienced Technician – You!

If you enjoy variety and adventure in your work, this hybrid role delivers both. Split between the shop and the field, you’ll support customers across an expansive 70,000 sq. km service area that includes some of the region’s largest mine sites, infrastructure projects, and industrial operations. With major projects happening close to home, you’ll be a critical part of providing the high-quality service and technical expertise our customers depend on, whether in the shop or at remote job sites.

This mechanic/technician role performs preventive maintenance, perform advanced diagnostics, and makes complex repairs on equipment in the safest, most effective way possible to avoid downtime. Our fleet varies by location but primarily includes Aerial Work Platforms, general construction tools and equipment. Our specialty lines locations may have a fleet of large-scale power generators, pumps, HVAC systems and oil/gas-related equipment. Our double-digit growth and internal promotion rate mean we are constantly looking to add top performers to our team.

Education or experience that prepares you for success:

• High school diploma or GED required, some trade school or equivalent training desired
• Previous mechanic experience with similar diesel equipment and/or heavy equipment or specialty lines equipment (large-scale generators, pumps, HVAC or Oil & Gas equipment) strongly preferred
• a valid Red Seal (Heavy Duty) is an asset

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities you may rely on:

• May need to provide mechanic’s tools of the trade.
• Advanced knowledge of hydraulic systems & troubleshooting skills
• Advanced knowledge of electrical systems & troubleshooting skills
• Ability to be flexible with changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Base Pay Range

42.09 - 60.50
