Qualifications

  • Interprovincial Journeyperson Mechanic/Heavy Equipment Technician Certification is essential.

Company: Finning Canada Number of Openings: 1 Worker Type: Permanent Position Overview: Finning Canada is seeking Field experienced Journeypersons Heavy Duty Mechanics (Red Seal) to join our team at Conuma Resources on a 14 x 14 Continuous Shift rotation. You will be responsible for troubleshooting, repair and rebuilds on a variety of CAT equipment such as 793, 789 and 785 haul trucks, D10 dozers, 395 HEX, 6015 shovels and 224/18/16 Motor Graders.

Job Description:
Major Job Functions
  • Troubleshoot and repair Caterpillar equipment in a Field environment
  • Perform field diagnosis and field running repairsUtilize Caterpillar SIS and ET daily
  • Complete technical documentation (service reports, warranty, crossover notes)
  • Interact with customers, sales support, and the rest of the Finning team
  • Work with the Service Supervisor and Leadhand on various tasks as required
Specific Skills & Experience
  • Interprovincial Journeyperson Mechanic/Heavy Equipment Technician (HET) Certification
  • Valid driver’s license with a successful recent drivers abstract
  • 7+ Years Off Road Mechanical Experience recommended
  • Safety conscious team player with excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills with a high attention to detail
  • Computer literacy along with Finning S-level courses and an understanding of Finning systems and software programs would be considered assets
  • Previous repair experience on the Caterpillar mining and general line product lines would be considered an asset
Important Information
  • This is a site position, located at Conuma Resources on a 14 x 14 continuous shift rotation, with a home base of Chetwynd/Tumbler Ridge
  • 10% Regional Wage Adjustment Applicable for Employees Living in Area (Travel Allowance and Company Accommodation not applicable)
  • A condition of employment includes the ability to obtain Customer Site Access (may include Drug & Alcohol, and Fitness testing)
