Job summary

Blackline Civil Inc. is seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our Alberta-based team. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of heavy diesel equipment to keep operations safe and productive.

The role requires a Journeyman HD Mechanic certification (or equivalent experience) and strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems. Valid license and safety focus are essential for success.

Qualifications

  • Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic certification (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
  • Experience with brands like CAT, Komatsu, John Deere (preferred).
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
  • Valid driver’s license (Class 1 or 3 is an asset).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
  • Perform repairs on heavy-duty equipment (e.g., trucks, loaders, excavators).
  • Conduct routine maintenance and preventative servicing.
  • Complete inspections and maintain accurate service records.
  • Ensure all work meets safety and regulatory standards.
  • Work collaboratively with operators and supervisors.

About the Role

We’re looking for a skilled and reliable Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team. You’ll be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy equipment and diesel-powered vehicles to ensure safe and efficient operation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues
  • Perform repairs on heavy-duty equipment (e.g., trucks, loaders, excavators)
  • Conduct routine maintenance and preventative servicing
  • Complete inspections and maintain accurate service records
