Job summary

Air Liquide Canada seeks a licensed Heavy Equipment Technician or registered apprentice to maintain and refurbish cryogenic trailers and related equipment at the Sherwood Park terminal. You will ensure preventive maintenance, manage parts inventory, and drive continuous improvements in safety and quality while collaborating with the Terminal team. This role requires 10-hour shifts, 40 hours/week, and a Class 5 license.

Qualifications

• HET Certificate is required.
• Good knowledge of recognized maintenance norms and standards for the industry, cryogenics, dangerous materials.
• Great mechanical, electrical and pneumatic knowledge.
• Ability to work alone and in groups is a must.
• Valid class 5 license required.
• Experience with small engines, cryogenics and/or pressure vessels is an asset.
• Shifts - Ability to work 10 hours/day (40 hours/week) 2 week rotation.

Responsibilities

• Maintains/refurbishes trailers and cryogenic equipment at the Terminal in Sherwood Park.
• Performs daily and preventive maintenance in line with codes and regulations to maximize use efficiency.
• Refurbishes cryogenic trailers in-house and solves challenges to complete projects.
• Manages parts inventory and documents parts movements in the software.
• Proposes improvements to minimize costs and improve maintenance quality; collaborates with Terminal team.
• Promotes safety and quality and adheres to the Quality Manual procedures.

Air Liquide Canada offers a unique opportunity for a licensed, heavy-duty mechanic (or registered apprentice) looking to enter into a diverse career working on engines, pumps, hydraulics and cryogenic trailers. The main object and purpose of this position is maintaining/refurbishing the various trailers used by the Terminal based in Sherwood Park. Trailer maintenance will be performed safely and efficiently while promoting ALC quality and safety objectives. Ensures the maintenance of trailers and cryogenic equipment: Ensures the daily and preventive maintenance of the cryogenic equipment and trailers operated by the Terminal in keeping with all of the applicable codes, standards and regulations, so as to maximize the efficiency of their use. Minimizes the costs of the maintenance activities and ensures their quality.

Refurbish cryogenic trailers: We refurbish cryogenic trailers inhouse. Looking for a candidate that can think outside the box to solve small challenges and has the drive to complete big projects.

Manages the parts inventory: Makes sure to properly maintain the parts inventory. Documents the parts movements in the appropriate software.

Continuous improvement: Recommends any improvements that could minimize the costs and/or improve the quality of maintenance activities. Works closely with the members of the Terminal team to resolve any problems or find new ways of improving the efficiency of the Center's activities.

Safety / Quality: Improves occupational health and safety. Takes part in promoting ALC safety objectives. Knows and respects all of the procedures provided in the Quality Manual. Implements adequate corrective and preventive measures in response to customer claims.

• Shifts - Ability to work 10 hours/day (40 hours/week) 2 week rotation Week 1 Mon - Thu, Week 2 Tue - Fri (40 hours/week, 10hrs/day) , OT when available.
