Job summary

Northern Mat & Bridge LP seeks a skilled Heavy Equipment Technician to service trucks, trailers and equipment in the field across Eastern Canada. You will ensure safety, reliability, and readiness, working from service trucks and yards on a 14 days on / 7 days off schedule.

The role demands problem solving, independence, and a team-first attitude, with travel and overnight stays as required. Full benefits and company-provided truck support are included.

Qualifications

• 3+ years working on heavy equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting ability.
• Comfortable working independently in a field setting.
• Reliable, practical, and a team player.
• Willing to travel and be away from home during your shift.
• Thrives in a rapidly changing environment.
• Ability to communicate in French is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Keep trucks, trailers, and equipment in ready-to-work condition.
• Perform regular maintenance and inspections.
• Diagnose and repair hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical issues.
• Handle breakdowns and complete repairs in the field.
• Take on larger repairs or overhauls when needed.
• Test equipment to ensure proper performance before return to work.
• Complete work orders and inspections clearly and accurately.
• Help guide and support apprentices on the team.
• Take on welding repairs as required.
• Pitch in where needed.

We’re offering a 14 days on / 7 days off shift, hands-on work across Eastern Canada, and the chance to be part of a team that actually supports each other on the ground.

The Role

This isn’t a shop-only job. You’ll be out in our yards and job sites, working from a service truck, making sure our equipment is safe, reliable, and ready to go when operations need it.

What You’ll Be Doing

Tickets & Requirements

• Heavy Duty Equipment Technician 421A
• 310T considered an asset
• Valid driver’s licence with a clean abstract
• DZ or AZ is a strong asset
• Welding experience is an asset
